The short version
Bear processes the messages and account details needed to provide a conversation in Telegram or Discord. We use that information to respond, keep continuity when you ask for it, maintain safety, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use your conversations for advertising.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or stop using Bear at any time. Write to privacy@bear.chony.lol and we will help.
What we receive
When you connect a channel
Telegram or Discord provides account and channel identifiers so we can route messages to the right Bear conversation. We may also receive your display name, username, server or chat identifier, and basic delivery metadata.
When you talk with Bear
We receive the messages, attachments, and reactions you choose to send to Bear. If Bear creates a memory or conversation summary, it is derived from those messages and associated with your Bear account.
When you visit this site
This site receives standard technical information needed to deliver a page, such as a request timestamp, browser details, and a short-lived security log. Optional product analytics are loaded only when configured for this site. We do not require analytics to read these pages or connect Bear.
How we use information
- To deliver, maintain, and secure Bear conversations in the channel you choose.
- To provide continuity when a memory is created or recalled during your conversation.
- To diagnose outages, prevent abuse, and protect the service and its users.
- To answer support requests and communicate important service changes.
Memory and control
Bear does not need to remember everything to be useful. Memories are retained only to support the conversation and product settings that create them. You can ask Bear to forget a memory, or contact us to request deletion of your account data. Removing Bear from a chat or server stops new messages from being processed there.
Because a deletion request can involve more than one system, we may retain a minimal record of the request and security information for as long as needed to meet legal or fraud-prevention obligations.
Service providers
We use carefully selected providers for hosting, database storage, message delivery, security, and language processing. They process information only to provide services to Bear under our instructions. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect someone from harm, or to investigate abuse of the service.
Retention and security
We retain account and conversation information while your Bear account is active, unless a shorter period is required by a setting or deletion request. Operational logs are kept for a limited period and access is restricted to people and systems that need it. No online service can promise perfect security, but we use encryption in transit, access controls, and routine monitoring to reduce risk.
Your choices
- Pause or remove Bear from a Telegram chat or Discord space.
- Ask for a copy, correction, or deletion of your information.
- Object to or limit certain processing where applicable law provides that right.
- Contact your local data protection authority if you have a concern.
For any privacy request, email privacy@bear.chony.lol. We may ask for enough information to verify the request belongs to you.
Children
Bear is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required where you live. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we will update the date above and, when a change is material, provide notice through the service or this site.
